Treatment of phobic patients and treatment under anaesthesia in
Rostock, Germany
Many people visit the dentist only very irregularly
or not at all because of fear. Practically always, the consequences
are progressive caries and periodontitis. Some day, unbearable
pain, loose or unaesthetical, destroyed anterior teeth finally
force the person concerned to consult a dentist.
Do you belong to those nervous and phobic patients as well?
Please realize the following: Your teeth will not grow back and
dental prostheses are expensive. Therefore, every tooth that may be
maintained is very valuable. Moreover, periodontitis also
represents a discomfort for general health, since among others it
promotes calcification of the blood vessels (arteriosclerosis),
increasing the probability of suffering cardiac infarction or an
apoplectic stroke.
Thus, there is no alternative than an adequate dental treatment.
We take our time to reduce fear within a common conversation. It is
important that it is up to you to decide which treatment is
acceptable to you. During longer treatments, you may listen to
relaxation music or watch a film per video glasses.
Local anaesthetics (anaesthetic injection) is a safe possibility
of avoiding pain. Moreover, within a therapy about coping with fear
you may learn how to consciously relax during the dental treatment.
Should you suffer from extreme fear of the dentist (or more
precisely: fear of dental treatment) you also may be treated under
laughing gas or even under general anaesthesia by an anaesthetist
in our practice.
